The Glass Sleeper Story | A Treasure Inspired by the Sea

The Glass Sleeper Earrings were inspired by sea glass washed up along the Tutukaka Coast; small, worn fragments shaped slowly by salt, sand, and time. What begins as something broken is softened by the ocean into something smooth, luminous, and quietly beautiful.

That transformation became the foundation for this entire range.
Living by the coast, you start to notice how often colour appears in subtle ways; light through water, glassy surfaces beneath the waves, fragments along the shoreline after a storm. The glass sleepers reflect those moments. Their soft, sea-glass quality echoes the pieces you find underfoot while walking the beach, each one unique and shaped by movement.

Over time, this collection has grown into 20 different colourways, each with its own name and character. Some shades mirror deep offshore blues, others the pale greens and translucent tones found close to shore. Each colour offers a small connection to place, to the coast, the water, and the ever-changing sea.

These earrings became a bestseller because they’re made for everyday coastal life. They’re worn while surfing, swimming, diving, spearfishing, and spending long days in and around the ocean. Lightweight and comfortable, they’re designed to stay on, jewellery that moves with you rather than needing to be removed.

The Tutukaka Coast isn’t just the inspiration; it’s where these pieces are lived in. Salt water, motion, and daily wear inform how they’re designed, simple, durable, and expressive without being loud. The Glass Sleeper Earrings are a quiet nod to the sea, a small piece of colour you can carry with you, wherever the day takes you.
