Inspired by the ferns that surround our home in Northland, this reversible fern and koru necklace reflects growth, renewal, and connection to place.
The koru, a young fern frond as it unfurl, symbolises new beginnings, balance, and continuous growth, while the fern itself represents strength, resilience, and deep ties to the natural landscape of Aotearoa. These forms are brought together in a design that honours both movement and grounding.
Designed to be worn either way, one side reveals more of the koru, while the other highlights the fern. From both perspectives, the other element remains subtly present in the background, creating a layered, evolving piece that changes with how it’s worn.
